How It Works

Training on a Vibrogym plate is based on the principle of Whole Body Vibration. WBV works by involuntarily contracting the muscles at very high speeds. This creates what is called a stretch reflex in the muscle. Due to this involuntary contraction more of the muscle fibres are engaged than in conventional exercise (almost 100% compared to 50-60%), ensuring an effective and intense workout.

The Vibration plate can be set at frequencies of 25hz-50hz: the higher the frequency, the more times your muscles will contract per second. The intensity should be built up over a period of time, and sufficient rest periods between sessions should be taken to ensure the muscles and bones have time to recover and develop.

Since the plate vibrates the entire body, muscles that are infrequently used and difficult to target are activated and strengthened.
